Both I and my co-founder are non-technical founders with no development or coding experience.
From a technical standpoint, it has been developing an input system to allow us to update the app content quickly and effectively.
Arabic UnlockedThe interviewee, Assad Masud, is one of the two co-founders of Arabic Unlocked. Both the founders of Arabic Unlocked, Assad and Ahmad, have their own journey to Arabic fluency. Their collective experiences gave them the insight to create learning programs ideal for second language learners.
Journey - A journaling app is minimalist in design and does exactly what I need from it.
It has been almost 2 years since we initially began development and a year since our initial soft launch.
Learning a language is a scary thing for most people. When you add onto that the reputation Arabic has as being one of the most difficult languages to learn, it becomes terrifying.
We wanted to break down that misconception and show people that they can learn Arabic AND enjoy it at the same time. Our focus was to provide users with an effective way to learn Arabic that was fun and enjoyable.
There are many language learning apps out there, but most of them were created with teaching other languages in mind. Although they do have Arabic courses on their apps, the course has been fit into a framework developed for teaching English, Chinese, or some other language.
We wanted to create the best app designed specifically for teaching Arabic. This means the whole app from the content to the features was built around the purpose of ensuring users have the best experience to help them improve their Arabic.
Our app curriculum has been redeveloped from the ground up over the past few months and the next major milestone is to roll out the new content. After that, we will move on to translating and localizing content to open our app to the world.
