Anybuddy: book a sports field - Interview with the developer of a fantastic app

Did you have any prior development or coding experience?

One of the 3 CEOs of our application had strong coding experience. The 3 founders of the society mixed their skills to launch the project.

What was the most challenging aspect of developing mobile app?

The most challenging aspect of developing this mobile app was to give an opportunity for everyone in France to play Tennis (and then Padel, Badminton, Squash, ...). Now, we're also developing the app internationally, and that's a new challenge for the whole team.

Name a few of your favorite apps and reason you love them.

Gymlib is another good sports app that we like. They found an innovative concept to increase the sports practices of employees in companies.

Personally, I also like the french app StadiumGO. Supporters and fans can use it to carpool to go to stadiums and big sports events. It's a great sustainability idea that puts forward accessibility, sharing, and passion in sports.

How long have you been working on this app?

As a new intern, I've worked on this app for only 5 months.

What need of the user did you have in mind when developing this app?

Developing this app, the founders thought about the fact that amateur tennis players couldn't practice tennis if they were not members of a club.

And they realized that people often don't have time or motivation to be a club member since they start to work in their life. They needed this alternative to continue to pursue their passion.

In what way do you think your app is better than similar apps on the market? Please describe in detail what innovation you think you bring and what you are proud of in your app.

We are better than similar apps on the market because we can adapt our calendar to all the schedules of our partner clubs. Users can book a time to play tennis until the last minute.

Players benefit from a comfortable situation, and Clubs are able to stay in their own environment and earn new revenue.

What are your future plans and expected features of the coming new versions of this app?

Our plans are to continue developing our offers in Padel, Tennis, Badminton, and Squash. We are expanding the concept internationally and want to add new sports & activities soon.
