Animals for Kids - Interview with the developer of a fantastic app

Did you have any prior development or coding experience?

Of course! Our team is made up of experienced developers with an IT background not only on mobile development but in a range of fields. Over the years, we have gained wide knowledge and many new skills that are being applied to every single one of our projects. As this is a never-ending journey, we always keep motivated and open to acquire and apply new knowledge and skills.

What was the most challenging aspect of developing mobile app?

The main difficulty we faced was the localization of the app. Since our app is designed for kids, we wanted them to be able to enjoy all our functionalities in their native language for both text and speech. We are proud to say that we currently support 23 different languages all around the world. However, this has put an extra challenge, since not only is it time-consuming, but also we have to make sure that every user enjoys a product matching their cultural background.

The Feasy Apps team consists of experienced Android and iOS developers and qualified educators who are absolutely passionate about their work! For a decade our developers have been engaged in a variety of challenging projects that have led to their specialization in app development and design. Being always on the lookout for new technologies, they never stop implementing the latest trends in mobile development.

Since our company is mainly focused on educational mobile apps for children, educators also have an important role in the designing process. Developers and educators work closely together so that we can ensure that every app addresses the needs of the respective children age group it has been designed for.

Name a few of your favorite apps and reason you love them.

We are more attracted by apps that were built around a simple idea and designed having the users’ experience in mind. Some of them are Google Keep and 17Track. Both are simple in design with clearly presented functionalities and very useful. We also admire “Flappy Bird”, as it has super simple gameplay and at the same time it is a very addictive and enjoyable game, which turned it into the success that it is today.

How long have you been working on this app?

Well, the original android version of “Animals for Kids” was published eight years ago. In all these years, we are proud to say that there have been a lot of updates with new features. However, the greatest update of all was published a month ago and a great many new features -including pronouncing the animals’ names- have been implemented. We have been working on this update for the last 6 months. During these 6 months, we also went on to develop the iOS version of the app, as well. This version is a brand new one! So, we are excited to announce that “Animals for Kids” are now available on Apple Store too!

What need of the user did you have in mind when developing this app?

At Feasy Apps, we firmly believe that technology can be a great learning tool if used wisely. For this reason, we wanted to develop an app that would be both beneficial and enjoyable for kids. Sometimes parents struggle to persuade their kids to let go of a mobile device and study, but kids react because the world of technology seems fascinating, whereas learning may appear boring at times. So, what we wanted to do is create an app that would overturn this idea for little kids. We wanted kids to have a whole new experience of how fun learning can be from a very little age. Besides, this is our motto: “Learning with Feasy is fun and easy!”.

In what way do you think your app is better than similar apps on the market? Please describe in detail what innovation you think you bring and what you are proud of in your app.

One of the things that make “Animals for Kids” special is that it offers kids complete learning experience, but at the same time it is very easy to use even by toddlers. Animals are firstly presented in vivid cartoon images so that they attract the kids’ attention, but with just a long tap, kids can enjoy 240 real animal photos, so that they know what the animal really looks like. Having in mind that some animals may seem scary, we selected the photos very carefully to ensure that toddlers won’t get scared of any animal. Kids can also listen to the animal’s name and sound in every step of the learning process. That way, kids can easily combine what they see with what they hear. But we also need kids to interact with the app. That is why we included two games with which they can practice not only what they have learned, but also their cognitive skills, such as memory, perception, attention and visual processing. Last but not least, the app has been localized in 23 languages, so that kids can learn in their native language. With such a great number of languages included, we believe that “Animals for Kids” is one of the most inclusive apps on the market.

What are your future plans and expected features of the coming new versions of this app?

Well, there is a great update coming very soon with an exciting new feature that will leave you speechless! Since we cannot reveal a lot at the moment, we can only give you a hint: kids will have the chance to learn more about each animal in a really enjoyable way!

Assuming new users of your app are reading this page. What do you want to ask them to do (contact you about X, Share the app, etc.)?

At Feasy Apps, we care about your feelings and every little encouragement makes us even better! So use the app and provide us with your feedback. Do not forget to follow us on social media, so that you can learn our news, get tips and be informed about our offers. Join Feasy! It’s fun and easy!

Animals for Kids

About App: Introduce your kids to the animal world with this fun educational application!
Along with your kid, you can enjoy a variety of activities that will help them learn the animals and their sounds, all while practicing their cognitive skills (such as perception, attention, memory and visual processing) without even realizing it!
At first, animals are presented through realistic cartoons with bright colors, so that they attract the kids’ attention. With just a single tap, children can listen to the name and the sound of each animal, while long tapping on it will open a photo gallery with various photos of this animal in real life. The photos have been carefully selected so that they portray different stages of the animal’s life. Thus, kids can have a complete idea of what an animal can look like as a baby or in different parts of the world, etc. To combine the animal’s name and sound with what kids see in the photos, there is the option to listen to them again, while they are in the photo gallery.
The app is designed according to the play-based approach, so kids learn while playing. For this reason, there are also two amusing games for kids to practice what they have learned!
In “Guess who!” children are asked to choose the photo that portrays the cartoon animal they see. This way, it helps kids develop their attention and visual processing skills.
In “Woof Woof”, children have to choose the correct photo based on the name or the sound they listen, thus developing their perception and memory skills.
Now learning is more enjoyable than ever! You can rest assured that your kids will spend their time creatively, even when playing alone since the app has been specially designed to be easily used even by toddlers.
